FAQs and Services

How do we check out books? Do I need a library card?

Patrons will use their government-issued ID to check out items, and this will act as your library card!

Requirements for a library card:

  • A valid military, civilian, dependent or contractor identification card must be used and available at all times. Military and civilian personnel and their family members are eligible for library privileges. Retired military, AF contractor personnel IAW contract requirements and non-DoD students enrolled in an AF or DoD sponsored education program when showing proof of current enrollment are eligible.
  • Registration is made in the name of the military sponsor. Children over the age of ten and spouses, authorized by the military sponsor or spouse, can check out library materials, with the military sponsor accountable for all materials checked out.

As of 6/17/2024: Patrons will have a choice of using their DoD ID card and/or library card. The library will now issue library cards, which will be made as needed. Patrons will sign the back of the card, and staff will laminate and issue the card. The new library card will allow you to check out using the self-checkout machine.

To log in to Bibliovation to see what items you have checked out, put items on hold, and/or renew the items:

  • Username = email address given at sign up
  • Password = lastname123 (substitute "lastname" with your last name)
    • Passwords can be changed by patrons after the initial sign in.

How long can I check out the materials?

3 weeks!

Magazines cannot be checked out. Items checked out may be renewed up to 2 times.

What is the maximum amount of items that can be checked out at one time?

The maximum total items that can be checked out are 25 items (including DVDs and video games). The max total for DVDs, Launchpads, and/or video games is 5.

What about overdue items?

You should receive an email when your items are overdue. Please let us know if you don't receive a reminder email. Patrons cannot check out again unless items are returned or replacements are given.

What about damaged or lost items?

Please let us know if and when your items are damaged or lost. We don't accept monetary payment, but we ask that you replace the item(s). Patrons cannot check out again unless items are returned or replacements are given.

Do you charge for overdue items?

No, we do not charge overdue fines. We ask that you please return your items so that other patrons may access these free resources in a timely manner.  Patrons cannot check out again unless items are returned or replacements are given.

Do you have computers? Do you have computers on the Air Force network?

Yes, we have 12 computers that are on the commercial network, and 3 .mil network computers for use. You must stop by the front desk first to sign in and receive the login credentials for the computer before use. Once you are finished, please return the card back to the front desk to sign out. No external devices are allowed on library computers per base policy.

  • Sign in at the front desk first for log in instruction.
  • No flash drives are permitted per base policy.
  • Please use headphones. See front desk if needed.
  • Limit 10 pages to print per patron. See front desk otherwise.
  • Log off the computer, return card to the front desk, and make sure to sign out for your privacy as these are public computers.
  • Please do not turn off! (It makes the computer even slower.)
  • Once you sign out, the files downloaded will be deleted from the computer. However, to delete files from the computer while still in use, empty the recycle bin.
  • See front desk for scanning, copying, or faxing questions.

Do you have printing, scanning, copying, or faxing capabilities at your facility?

Yes, we have all four, and it's free. There is no charge to print; however, we limit printing by 10 pages. For scanning, copying, and faxing, the front desk staff will assist you as well. (Due to limited supplies, we cannot copy more than 10 pages in color. We apologize.)

Does the library have Wi-Fi?

Yes, and it's free! We also have tables and outlets if you need to charge your laptop or mobile device while at the tables. There is a charging station for mobile devices or tablets towards the back of the library, which can be locked with a PIN so you don't have to worry about theft.

Do you have private meeting rooms?

Yes, we have two small rooms that can fit 4 people each. A computer, a table, a whiteboard, and a TV screen with a disc player are available in each conference room. They are a first-come, first-serve service. If you'd like to book the room in advance, please call 478-222-0774 or 478-926-2151.

The Children’s Area is reserved for our young patrons and their parents/guardians. Adults not using the Children's Area for its intended purpose will be asked to move to other areas of the library. The library staff places the safety of children first.

The conduct, safety, and supervision of children while in the base library are the responsibility of the parents/guardians. While the library staff values the safety of our young patrons, the library staff cannot supervise children while fulfilling other work duties, so only the parents/guardians can provide appropriate supervision of their children.

Do you have any online resources or ebooks and audiobooks online that I can access?

Yes, we do. Please go to DoD MWR Libraries and log in using your DoD ID number and birth date.

Do you take donations like books, audiobooks, and DVDs?

Yes, we do take donations. However, please know that some of the items that have been donated may not be added to our collection if they are outdated, have a duplicate, have any damage, and other stipulations.

How do you out-process from the Base Library?

To out-process from the Base Library, we ask that the individual stop by the Library with their base ID card, so we can check for an account in the system. If there is no account, we will sign off on the out-processing sheet. If there is an account, we will check for items that are currently checked out or overdue. We ask that the patron please return all items or replace the items before we can sign. For digital out-processing sheets, please send them to 78FSS.FSDL.RobinsAFBLibrary@us.af.mil.

All you need is your government-issued ID! Check out adult fiction and nonfiction, young adult fiction and nonfiction, juvenile fiction and nonfiction, easy reader books, biographies, board games, video games, audio-books, Launchpads, WonderBooks, Vox Books, and more.

Patrons are allowed to print from our computers (in black and white), fax, scan, and copy (in color) for free! There is a 10-page limit to printing. (As we have limited supplies, we cannot do color printing for more than 10 pages.) Don't hesitate to ask the staff for assistance.

Need to have an exam proctored? The library can help! Please call 478-222-2777 to schedule an appointment.

We have charging stations and conference rooms that seat up to 4 people. (The conference rooms also have a computer, white board, and TV and disc player.) There is also free Wi-Fi in the building. Ask the front desk for assistance.
