The Yokota AB Education Center is located in building 316 on the second floor.
AFTA (Air Force Tuition Assistance) is your financial aid benefit to help you pay for school. Currently, the benefit provides 100% tuition and fees up to $250.00 per semester hour or $166.66 per quarter hour. There is also an annual cap of $4,500.00 per FISCAL year. Books, supplies and most fees are not covered by TA.
You are required to apply for TA before the term begins. If you are having difficulty, please contact your education office for assistance.
Eligibility Requirements:
Attend the mandatory Initial Tuition Assistance or Follow-up Briefing - contact your Education Center for information on when and where this weekly briefing is held.
Apply for admission to your school. (Note: Admission is separate from class registration.)
Have a degree plan on file at the Education Center. (You do not have to provide a degree plan if you are taking classes for CCAF). An official evaluated degree plan is required prior to your second enrollment

The Yokota Education Testing Center offers a variety of testing services available to all active duty and reserve personnel. Our test center is located in Room 239 of the Base Education Center, building 316. Our standard test days are Tuesdays at 0800/1500 and Thursdays at 0800/1300.
To schedule your exam, click on "My Online Test Requests" under "Self Service Options" at the Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC). To access AFVEC, go to www.my.af.mil. Click "Request Test Date" and follow the prompts. Our Test Examiner will receive your request and confirm or deny with rationale by email.
CLEP provides the opportunity to earn college credit by examination for knowledge obtained through non-traditional means. The specific number of hours earned depends on the receiving school and your score.
University of Maryland University College National Test Center
CLEP and DSST exams are administered by University of Maryland University College as a National Test Center (NTC), located in the Yokota Education Center, building 316, room 250.
Testing is administered on Monday-Thursday at 0730, 0930, 1300, and 1500 hrs and Friday at 0800 hrs. Please call the NTC at 225-8922 with any questions.

CLEP/DSST Study Guide Material
The Yokota Air Base Library has multiple copies of the latest study guides for the CLEP and DSST tests offered at the University of Maryland University College NTC. The Yokota Library also has the CLEP/DSST study material on DVD. All study material can be reserved if currently checked out.
Peterson's DOD MWR Libraries also has current CLEP and DSST study material. Peterson's DOD Library can be accessed at AFVEC (https://www.my.af.mil/) under Education/Training/Force Development.
