Access our Historical Collections

The Seymour Johnson Historical Digital Collection is a collaborative effort between the base library and the base historian's office to preserve and provide access to images, documents, and artifacts depicting the history of the 4th Fighter Wing and Seymour Johnson AFB. The collection currently consists of emblems and lineage and honor histories of units under the 4th Fighter Wing umbrella; 4th Fighter Wing commander pictures and biographies; aircraft flown by Seymour Johnson and 4th Fighter Wing controlled units; the Wright Times, the base newspaper; and images, documents, and artifacts related to all military conflicts in which 4th Fighter Wing units have taken part.

About our Historical Collections

The goal of this project is to digitally preserve aspects of the 4th Fighter Wing and Seymour Johnson AFB. In the future, we hope to include back issues of "Seymour Scope," the base newspaper, as well as oral interviews and personal recollections from those stationed at Seymour Johnson. We welcome any suggestions to improve this project as well as donations of items we could add to enhance the collection. If you have any questions regarding this project or would like to donate items, contact the base library at (919) 722-5825 or libraryweb@us.af.mil.
