Please allow one to two weeks for prints to be completed. The library will allow up to 10 hours of printing per month per patron account. Patrons must have a library patron account to use the 3D printer.
Step 1: 3D designs may be found online or can be created. Browse Thingiverse or create your own 3D model to print using a program such as Tinkercad.
Step 2: Email the library at rafcroughtonlibrary@gmail.com the design you want to use so we can okay the print. We recommend you send us the page link to the print you would like or the .STL file. All 3D printing requests must be submitted as .STL or .OBJ file types. Other file types will be returned and not printed until converted to an approved format. Single color requests can be made. Color requests will be taken into account when printing but may not always be honored.
Step 3: Library staff will run the printer due to heated surfaces. Please allow one to two weeks for prints to be completed.
Are there limits to what I can print?
Yes, please see our 3D Printing policy. Also, some designs simply won’t work with our printers, and we do restrict prints based on the length of time the item will take to print. Please visit in person to find out more—print time varies greatly depending on the printer settings and individual design. Please allow one to two weeks for prints to be completed.
