86 FSS Libraries: Summer Reading 2023

The Goal

For every registered reader to read for a total of 1,500 minutes between June 9th and August 3rd.

And our overall goal is for the KMC community to reach 2,500,000 minutes for the whole summer!

The Rewards

Readers will collect and use tickets to choose from a variety of prizes at the Summer Reading Prize Store, located at both Ramstein and Vogelweh Libraries. Readers will earn 1 prize store ticket for every 60 minutes logged in Beanstack, up to 50 tickets.

New prizes will be added to the prize stores each week. The stores at each library may contain unique prizes for that location. Readers may also want to collect and save their tickets for bigger prizes later in the summer!

Registered readers will also receive a free “Find Your Voice” Summer Reading T-shirt while supplies last!

All readers who complete the 1,500 minute challenge are automatically entered into the raffle prize drawings. Readers will earn additional raffle prize entries for every 60 minutes logged over the 1,500-minute challenge; prize store tickets are earned up to the 3,000 minute mark.

The Handy Dandy Details

• Summer reading minutes can begin to be logged June 9th, 2023. Logging ends at EOD CET August 3rd, 2023.
• Raffle prizes will be drawn at the Summer Reading Program closing ceremony on August 4th, 2023.
• All prizes are available as supplies last.
• No prizes will be reserved or held for patrons.
• Prizes are not limited to patrons of a certain age group or summer reading program except for the end of summer raffle prizes.
• The library maintains the option to change the prices of prizes as demand or supplies vary.
• The prize store closes August 18th, 2023. That is the last day to pick up any prizes.
• The Summer Reading Program is open to all military members, dependents, civilians, contractors, and local nationals who have access to either Ramstein or Vogelweh Air Bases. Individuals without base access cannot earn prizes or participate in events.
• We do not track your logging; estimate your time or use the tracking tool on the Beanstack app. Backdating time is permitted. 
• When entering minutes read or tracked, please remember: In the Air Force, we practice Integrity First. Be honest with your and your families' time.
