Computer Usage Policy

COMPUTERS IN AMC LIBRARIES ARE PART OF AN OFFICIAL U.S. GOVERNMENT SYSTEM FOR AUTHORIZED USE ONLY. BECAUSE OF THE NATURE OF THESE COMPUTERS, THEY MAY BE USED FOR MORALE, WELFARE, AND RECREATION PURPOSES. DO NOT DISCUSS, ENTER, TRANSFER, PROCESS, OR TRANSMIT CLASSIFIED/SENSITIVE NATIONAL SECURITY INFORMATION ON THIS SYSTEM

UNAUTHORIZED USE FOR PURPOSES OF THIS POLICY INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

• Accessing, storing, processing, displaying, sending, or otherwise transmitting offensive or obscene language or material, anti-government sites or news groups, pornographic or related news groups, hate groups, or sites that might contain games or gaming software
• Using any computer for illegal or criminal purposes, installing or downloading software on the computer hard drive
• Using “Chat” lines and conferencing capabilities
• Activities for personal or commercial financial gain including, but not limited to, chat rooms, chain letters, gambling, commercial solicitation, and sales of personal property

SAVE YOUR DOCUMENTS TO YOUR THUMBDRIVES. THIS MACHINE AUTO-DELETES DOCUMENTS EACH NIGHT TO PROTECT PIIs.

USE OF THIS SYSTEM BY ANY USER, AUTHORIZED OR UNAUTHORIZED, CONSTITUTES EXPRESSED CONSENT TO MONITORING, INTERCEPTION, RECORDING, READING, COPYING, OR CAPTURING AND DISCLOSURE.

NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE COMPUTER AREA

Violation of Agreement:

The library staff has the right to restrict computer usage of those individuals who do not abide by the rules outlined in this Computer/Internet Use Policy and Agreement. Failure to observe any part of the above policy may result in suspension of the user’s privilege to use library computers and may result in the possible loss of all library privileges
