About the Robins Air Force Base Library

The Base Library invites you to allow us to be your bridge between the past, present, and future. The library requires only your ID card to check out our amazing resources and services!

Patrons will use their military ID to check out items. You can check out up to 15 items, five of those can be DVDs. All items besides DVDs can be checked out for 2 weeks. DVDs can be checked out for 1 week. You can renew items up to 3 times over the phone, by email, or in person.

Children’s Story Time: The library will be hosting storytimes every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10:30 AM. A story and craft will be provided. We hope to see you there! (This program will pause during the summer months as our Summer Reading Program takes place.)

1000 Books Before Kindergarten: Enroll your child or children in to begin logging in how many books your child or children have read. Every 100 books read will receive a prize until 1000! Learn more here:

Family Craft Day: Stop by the library to pick up a craft to do at home with the whole family! This event will be every 3rd Saturday of the month while supplies last.

Teen Book Bash: The library invites all middle school (pre-teens) & high school (teens) aged teens to join us for an hour of book-talk, crafting, and light refreshments. You do not have to come alone; bring a friend or two and enjoy!

Page Turners: An event designed to encourage a love of reading while simultaneously informing the community of what is new and currently popular in the world of reading. Book Talks and Author visits will be a part of this monthly event.

Summer Reading Program: This occurs during the summer months when our reading slows down quite a bit. Dates, events, and prizes will be announced here on Facebook. Register online at Log your reading and participate in virtual activities. Earn rewards.



All you need is your government-issued ID! Check out adult fiction and nonfiction, young adult fiction and nonfiction, juvenile fiction and nonfiction, easy reader books, biographies, board games, video games, audio-books, Launchpads, pre-loaded Kindles, and more.

Patrons are allowed to print from our computers (in black and white), fax, scan, and copy (in color) for free! There is a 10-page limit to printing, but if you'd like to print more, please bring in the paper for your printing needs. (As we have limited materials, we cannot do color printing for more than 10 pages.) Don't hesitate to ask the staff for assistance.


Patrons can visit the link for more information. Find free prints at (though you can find other free prints elsewhere). Send the link or the .stl files to Prints must be 5 hours or less to complete in one day (10 hours per family per month).

The DEERs ID Kiosk is located in the library (directional signs are present). The ID Renew Kiosk was developed exclusively for military retirees and dependents who need to renew their military ID card. Please bring in 2 forms of ID to scan for your replacement.

Need to have an exam proctored? The library can help! Please call 478-222-2777 to schedule an appointment.

We have charging stations and conference rooms that seat up to 4 people. (The conference rooms also have a computer, white board, and TV and Blu-ray player.) There is also free Wi-Fi in the building. Ask the front desk for assistance.


How do we check out books? Do I need a library card?

Patrons will use their military ID to check out items.

How long can I check out the materials?

Everything but DVDs: 2 weeks

DVDs: 1 week

Magazines cannot be checked out.

What is the maximum amount of items that can be checked out at one time?

The maximum total items that can be checked out are 15 items (including DVDs and video games). The max total for DVDs and video games is 5. The max total of Launchpads is 2.

What about overdue items?

You will receive an email when your items are overdue.

Do you charge for overdue items?

No, we do not. We ask that you please return your items so that other patrons may access these free resources in a timely manner.

Do you have computers? Do you have computers on the Air Force network?

Yes, we have 12 computers that are on the commercial network, and 3 .mil network computers for use. You must stop by the front desk first to sign in and receive the login credentials for the computer before use. Once you are finished, please return the card back to the front desk to sign out. No external devices are allowed on library computers.

Do you have printing, scanning, copying, or faxing capabilities at your facility?

Yes, we have all four, and it's free. There is no charge to print; however, we limit printing by 10 pages. If you go over, please bring the amount you need to print to the front desk. We will assist you with this. For scanning, copying, and faxing, the front desk staff will assist you as well. Similar to printing, if you need to copy more than 10 pages, please bring the amount you need to print to the front desk. (Due to limited materials, we cannot copy more than 10 pages in color. We apologize.)

Does the library have Wi-Fi?

Yes, and it's free. We also have tables and plugs if you need to charge your laptop or mobile device while at the tables. There is a charging station for mobile devices towards the back of the library, which can be locked with a PIN so you don't have to worry about theft.

Do you have private meeting rooms?

Yes, we have two small rooms that can fit 4 people each. A computer, a table, a whiteboard, and a TV screen with a Blu-Ray player are available in each conference room. They are a first-come, first-serve service. If you'd like to book the room in advance, please call 478-222-0774 or 478-926-2151.

Do you have any online resources or ebooks and audiobooks online that I can access?

Yes, we do. If you have access to the AF Portal, you can go to the Library & Resources tab and select the resource you'd like to sign up for. The instructions will be next to the resource. If you do not have access, you can either go to Military OneSource, send an email to, or stop by the library to sign up for any resources.

How do I access my account in Alexandria?

Your username is your last name then first name in all caps. Your password is your last name all lowercase. Click here to log in!

Do you take donations like books, audiobooks, and DVDs?

Yes, we do take donations. However, please know that some of the items that have been donated may not be added to our collection if they are outdated, duplicated, have any damage, or other stipulations.
